If you hate cable but like music, you have lots of Best Wireless Headphones to choose from. We have tested more than 400 over the past few years, so we can help you decide on the best set for your needs.

Even though there isn’t a single headphone that works for everyone, there is a perfect set of Bluetooth headphones for you. The trick is to find out what designs are most suitable for your needs and lifestyle.

1. Sony H.ear On 2 WH-H900N

The best Bluetooth headphones

$239 From Amazon

Sony H.ear On 2 WH-H900N
Sony H.ear On 2 WH-H900N

For whom this is: This type of headphones are for people who want to discard cables but prefer sound quality from over-ear designs. Many such couples can work both wired and wirelessly, and they usually have a longer battery life than other earbud colleagues. They are good for people who want versatile headphones to use at home and in the office, but they are not as portable as mini speakers.

Why do we like it: With a slightly forward-forward bass plus clear and clean high that doesn’t penetrate, Sony H.ear On WH-H900N sounds better than other headphones. 28 hours more battery life, good comfort, quality active noise cancellation, and very clear phone calls make this pair suitable for office use. Although ANC is not the best available, the ANC is still far above the average.

Weaknesses but not violators: Like most headphones we tested in this category, the included WH-H900N cable did not have a remote or microphone. This model also doesn’t work when charging, so you have to make sure you have enough power before making a call. We also prefer to have a slightly better sound insulation on these headphones.

2. Jabra Elite 65t

Best Bluetooth earbuds

$155 From Amazon

Jabra Elite 65t

Who is this: Bluetooth earbuds are lightweight, portable and not flashy. They are good for commuters who need something put in a bag and don’t want to deal with tangled cables.

Why we like it: Jabra Elite 65t is the first set of true wireless earbuds that we really like to make our entire earbuds available. It sounds amazing, comfortable, and easy to use, offering volume control and tracking and the ability to trigger your digital assistant. An array of four microphones works well to keep your voice clear during a phone call. Even though Elite 65t earbuds block most of the outside noise, they also have a transparency mode so you can choose to listen to the sounds around you.

Weakness but not a violator: When you press the button on the left earbud that controls tracks and volume, you can insert an earbud into your ear. The effect is uncomfortable, but it is rather annoying.

The five hour battery life per charge is at the end of a higher listening time between charging for true wireless earbuds – but it is still much shorter than the lifetime of standard Bluetooth earbuds. And in our tests, Elite 65t headphones produced a slight delay when we watched videos, especially on the YouTube app.

3. Plantronics BackBeat Fit 2100

The best headphones for running

$100 From Amazon

For whom: If you often run out (not using a treadmill), you need headphones that are not only comfortable, sweat resistant, and easy to use, but also allow you to hear the environment so you can stay safe from the car and other dangers.

Why we like it: The Plantronics BackBeat Fit Earbud has been our favorite headphone for two years. They are comfortable and easy to use when you move, and they are resistant to sweat, rain and dust. The BackBeat Fit 2100 offers great sound quality, better than what we hear from other sealless headphones we’ve tested. Earbuds feel light and stable – you can stick them to your head and leave. A hook above the ear and a small wing right inside the outer ear keeps each earbud in place. BackBeat Fit 2100 has a battery life of seven hours. If you run out of juice and hurry, the pair’s quick-charge feature will give you one hour of use after only 15 minutes of charging.

Weaknesses but not offenders: For the most part, the BackBeat Fit 2100 is fantastic, but we have a bit of a fight. If you run with a scarf in cold weather or have a high collar on your jacket, thick rubber cables that connect the earbud can sometimes come into contact with it, but we never feel as if the earbuds are tugging or risk falling.

4. Skullcandy Ink’d Bluetooth

The best cheap Bluetooth earbuds

$30 From Amazon

Skullcandy Ink’d Bluetooth
Skullcandy Ink’d Bluetooth

For whom: If you don’t have a lot of money, but want the best pair of headphones, and must be on a budget, only a cheap pair of earbuds can be needed.

Why we like it: The lightweight Skullcandy Ink Bluetooth skull can be rolled into a portable pocket, and it sounds better than most other earbuds in this price range. Controls are easily found with taste, and the cable is not too long so it is tangled.

Weaknesses but not offenders: If you have a very large ear canal, you may not get a stamp because Skullcandy only includes medium and small tips, and third party tips are subject to additional fees. In our tests, the sound quality of Ink was less balanced than we wanted – the intensity of the bass hardened the range of middle to lower guitars, while the rugged high frequency range made the string feel a little loud. But overall, none of our panelists are happy with the sound quality of one of these choices in this price range, so if you consider sound quality as a top priority, you need to spend more money. Even though you get a lot of extra allowances for extra cash with our upgrade options, the model costs about twice that of Ink, and we realize that the amount can be too much for those who are truly budget conscious. Finally, if you make a lot of phone calls, you must pay attention to the microphone; your voice will sound a little muffled if your shirt is blocking.

5. Sony WH-1000XM3

Wireless noise-cancelling headphones that sound better than Bose

$348 From amazon

Sony WH-1000XM3
Sony WH-1000XM3

Over the past two years, the Sony 1000X headphone series has become our favorite wireless headphones on the market. They sound great thanks to the combination of incredible wireless codecs – aptX and Sony’s LDAC technology – and keep noise out there thanks to the ever-increasing noise cancellation algorithm from Sony.

Although Sony WH-1000XM3 may not have been a massive increase compared to WH-1000XM2 last year, they are still superior to their competitor, Bose QC35 II, in almost everything: they sound better, they block noise better and have more features good like the Quick Attention mode that allows all outside noise without removing headphones.

Sounds great and full of features, the Sony WH-1000XM3 is a great travel companion and amazing wireless headphones.

6. Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless

The best-sounding wireless headphones you can buy

Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless is a wireless headphone with the best sound you can buy, period. The sound is broad, detailed, and makes you want to rediscover your music library. Its great design and average noise insulation make it terrible for travel but if you are looking for the best sound from wireless headphones, here it is.

7. Audio Technica ATH M50xBT

Technically brilliant on nearly every level

$199 From Amazon

Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT
Audio-Technica ATH-M50xBT

Audio-Technica has a long history of producing high-quality headphones, microphones and turntable accessories, and with the release of ATH-M50xBT, it presents wireless studio-quality audio.

The ATH-M50xBT is designed for highly sophisticated audio performance, with 45mm drivers and a frequency response range of 15-28.00 Hz, and this shows – we were very impressed with the warm and thorough sound.

The ATH-M50xBT headphones also perform well in terms of battery life and Bluetooth connectivity, but the microphone is not too strong, and you may have difficulty making phone calls using them, that’s probably not the reason you will buy a pair of studio grade headphones in the first place.

8. Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2

These wireless noise-cancelling headphones are a traveler’s best friend

$144 From Amazon

Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2
Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2

If you travel a lot, you might be too familiar with headphones that can’t hold back costs and can’t block sound, especially if it sounds really good. Let us introduce you to Plantronics BackBeat Pro 2, one of the few headphones on the market that can do all of the above and costs less than half as many as one of the big names like Beats, Bose and Sony.

They also include a neat little feature that allows them to turn off automatically when you don’t use it, which means you can easily maximize their battery life without much effort.

If we have to make it to the point, BackBeat Pro 2 offers excellent travel headphones with exceptional battery life, highest comfort, the ability to pair two devices at once, and most importantly, good sound quality for the price.

9. AKG N60NC Wireless

Wireless noise-cancellation from the mid-range master

$220 From Amazon

AKG N60NC Wireless
AKG N60NC Wireless

The AKG N60NC wireless sounds like a pair of headphones that should be much more expensive than them.

At the price point of their mid-range, headphones offer fantastic value for money, with great sound quality and noise reduction performance levels that are at a much higher premium entry on this list.

Our biggest problem with these headphones is the fact that they are on-ear rather than over-ear, which means that we feel uncomfortable for a long time.

Regardless, the benefit of this is that this is a pair of headphones that are extraordinarily compact, and if you are willing to do a trade-off then this is for you.

10. Jabra Move Wireless

These headphones may look like limited purchases, but don’t let that fool you: these Bluetooth headphones in the ear are nothing but complete star products. From fun and edgy designs to exceptional performance, this is recommended for anyone interested in wireless at a low price. Best Wireless Headphones 2019
